Available
by reservation only, Hillcrest Recreation Building is
an enclosed shelter in a more wooded and private setting. The
shelter seats 50 people with 10 picnic tables outside and 12
folding tables and 50 folding chairs inside.
The building also offers 50 amp electrical service with 8 outlets,
drinking water, a group grill and commercial range. There is
a fireplace inside for heating only, though you must bring your
own wood. Vault toilets are located just outside the shelter,
and modern restrooms are just a short walk down the road at
the Nature Center
and Swimming Pool.
There
is enough parking space for 30 vehicles, though the spaces aren't
guaranteed for the shelter. The parking area across the road
(with total space for 30 vehicles plus 2 busses) is also used
for Pine Bluff Shelter,
a large playground, playfields, and a picnic area by Trail
8.
