ALERT: This trail received significant damage from a tornado in March 2023. It is currently open from CCC Rec Hall to Family Cabins/Trail 1, including the Statehouse Quarry Loop. (Please do not cross closure barriers where the Quarry Loop meets Trail 7.)

Trail 2 is a moderate 1.0 mile trail that begins at Trailside Shelter (behind the CCC Recreation Hall) and ventures into McCormick's Cove Nature Preserve and ends up between Family Cabin #11 and #12.

Trail 2 also offers access to the Quarry Loop Trail (labeled Q on the trail map) for observation of the Old State House Quarry.
