HIKING TRAILS:
Trail 5 - Wolf Cave

Hiking Trails:
Trail 1 | Trail 2 | Trail 3 | Trail 4 | Trail 5 | Trail 6 | Trail 7 | Trail 8 | Trail 9 | Trail 10

ALERT: This trail received significant damage from a tornado in March 2023 and remains closed. Do not go past the closure signs.

Wolf Cave was formed as underground water dissolved the limestone bedrock and carved out a network of passageways. Over the years Wolf Cave became exposed by the powerful forces of erosion. The cave is now dry because the underground stream it once carried has carved lower passageways.

For more information on the geologic details of Wolf Cave and other features in McCormick's Creek State Park check out the park geology page.
